009 - Rwandan Struggle...

This piece is titled, "Rwandan Struggle!" It was created as a remembrance piece of artwork in memory of the hundreds of thousands of innocent people who have died or been injured and maimed in Rwanda due to the political struggles and war over the last 20 years!!! There are three or four beautiful colors of green in the painting representing the lush and beautiful foliage of the land. Intermingled with these greens are vibrant silver and golds that represent the country's economic wealth of gold, silver and diamond mines in the region. The color black is also displayed representing the countries wealth of oil that is also a source of political struggle in the region. BUT, overlaying and staining all the other colors in the painting is the color RED, which represents all the INNOCENT BLOOD that has been shed in that country over the last couple of years... What a SAD SITUATION showing humanity at its most callous and brutal self!!! May GOD have MERCY on us all!!!

Thanks for your kind words! I would hope by producing artwork like this we could all shine a little more light on the atrocities taking place in that region of the world and that more may been done to stop such cruel and senseless murder and violence...
