New artwork by Cedric Colond featuring a Blue Heron soaring over a deep lavender horizon. 'Winter Escape' dipicts this bird caught by an early winter storm, heading south for the season. The heron and crane are very similar, but the Great Blue Heron can be identified by their neck which is doubled back, the crane extends its neck during flight. The heron can grow to be over 1 m tall and is known for it's unique appearance and behaviour. They use their size and shape to their advantage while fishing and foraging. Canvas size: 10" x 12" inches, Acrylic, 2008. All artwork includes hardware installation, gallery wrapped + painted edges, artist signature.
