Robert Pete Williams was sentenced to life in prison in the 1950's, but was given the chance for parole due to be recorded for field music. He played his guitar so beautifully and powerfully for the court, the judge set him free with 5 years probation...50" x 62", ink, acrylic, latex house paint, coffee grounds, found objects, and found wood, on wood...D.H. this one will be down in LA in'09!!

I like the whole idea of the altar. The painting is strong and the other elements help re-enforce the pathos of the story. Nice work, as usual.

Love that story! Brilliant! Like the raised hands in supplication and the chains. Very expressive and powerful!

good, minus the bad writing word free. this has no power in it, pity...
Artist Reply:   The cardboard with free was found in a wood pile, I agree it is the weakest part, a bit static. I'll probably paint over it a bit. Thanks Mieke!
