In the stillness of the night, In a dream, I was there, I remember the beauty in a vision, So very long ago, Before the clouds of terror, came and stole my dreams away, I was much to young to see such pain, They poisoned the water, Put tempting poisons in all of our food, I remember those days when, Some of us pretended not to see, We were dying, Some of us decided to leave, And we found a home, Far far away, I still miss the scent of lavender, growing next to the cedar fence, And I miss the scent of sunshine, warm upon my heart, I miss the birds singing me songs, And telling their funny jokes, Only they can understand, But most of all I miss the mountains, and the animals eating out of my hand, Someday I’m going back there, Maybe they will clean up the air, So I can breathe the scent of lavender, One day I will return, And earth will be my home once again, This is my dream...
