Born Slain

At this of the year, Christians celebrate the birth of Christ, the anointed Savor of the world. No celebration of His birth would be appropriate without also acknowledging His death. While the birth is cause for rejoicing, it is His death that set the captives free. This painting is my conception of the Christ who Scripture says was slain before the foundations of the world, as indicated by the crown of thorns on the fetus' head.
