Deirdre In Green

This is an acrylic painting of my daughter Deirdre at the age of four. It was done on masonite board with acrylic paint/matte medium added. 16 x 20 inches. The pictures were taken with my digital camera in cloudy, soft outdoor light.

I think the skin tone looks very natural. That's what I like the most of this painting, the natural look of all of it. The little girl is sitting so much at ease and is really enoying it, it seems. Love the painting, Sandra, I saw it on the Random Artwork thumbnails and just had to come here and see the larger version. :)

My children and I are very very pale. My mother used to say I looked like a porcelien China doll. Rather unreal. If my skin tone looks unreal, it is due to this fact and not my skin tone color choices.

It is good, but doesn't look very real. The shadows you did very well but the skin tone looks fake.See my point?
