Our lil darling Baby Grebe

On our way to take my husband to work one day we came upon our darling Baby Grebe on a very busy street...she was molting and could not take care of herself so we took her in for about 2 wks then we took her to a Wildlife Bird Place when she was better and they let her go at their wildlife lake...we surely do miss her...

I'm sure there's a great story behind this little guy. :) -Kerra

Artist Reply: thank u ms kerra... our darling lil baby grebe was on one of our busy streets out here in our city in cali and she was molting according to the fish and game office personnel...they said she probably was molting and that's why she couldn't fly plus she may have dove down onto the black asplalt cuz she may have thought it was a body of water and that's probably why she was out there... we didn't want her to get hit by any cars that morning cuz when we tried to get her to go towards the water embankment she kept going towards the streets still...she couldn't fly nor could she barely walk...I took her home after I left my husband at work and took care of her for 2 weeks until she was doing really well... she had our 2nd bedroom to herself, we let her stay in my bathtub so she'd maybe feel better and she did...she started out with 1 live minnow a day then after 2 weeks she was eating a dozen of them we would buy her fresh fish at the bait shop daily, we were happy about that then she could jump in and out of my bathtub and either walk, run and fly towards my room just to seat and visit with me daily... when we felt she was well...we took her to the Wild Birdlife Sactuary in another city from us about 30 min away cuz that where it was at...they kept her 4 about a couple of days said she was doing great and let her go at the lake there by them with all the other wildlife birds and such...they said I took care of her very well... We surely miss her and would have love to keep her but we knew she would be better in her own habitat...we do have many photos of her, us with her and home videos too so we can remember our blessed times we had with her...and that's our lil story with Our Lil Baby Grebe... I so sorry I barely getting back to you...my life's pretty busy with not only my spouse but with other family members who all depend on me alot for many different things...I try and draw when I can... take care and hope you're havin a great weekend sincerely, Jewels
