The Rose Bush

I bought a rose bush and planted it next to the fence so we could see the flowers from our bedroom window. It was great in the spring until the bush started growing 25 ft long thorny runners...and I'm talking 3/4 inch long thorns. We cut and cut but everyday it reached out and would snag you. Needless to say that the thorns punctured everytime. I finally gave it to a friend and it died but at our house it started growing again. It wouldn't have been so bad but it bloomed only one time in the spring.
