Claude Clark lived in Puerto Rico during the summer rainy season of 1950. He he made trips from Puerto Rico to American and British Virgin Islands and Haiti. Tortola is located in the British Virgin Islands. Clark made at least two paintings of this subject, a smaller painting done in 1950 and a 24 by 30 inches painting done in 1952. The father and son supervized color separations and printing. Four color ink photo-offset lithography was done by Golden Gate Litho in California.
