Overcoming the Ego

24 x 36; ink on mylar "If an acorn ever wishes to be an oak tree, the acorn must first stop being an acorn." I took this statement as a process of confronting yourself in the process of change. This ideology kind of reminds me of the act of repenting, in christianity, however it's a very common theme throughout humanity. The ant, the symbol of hard work, carries the acorn that breaks open in its seam. The oak leaf showing promise of a productive future, while the inch worm, the all too common problem that we have to work around.
