Artist Reply: black, yellow and red are the national flag colours; the lion is one of the medieval times provincial symbols for a few provinces. Their hat is made of ostrich feathers; and can be quite heavy (3kg) but in the old time they were made with chicken or howl feathers. That's a tradition dating to the 14th century :)
