HINTERLAND MOONSHINE

The moon appears in silvery colours from behind the hills to illuminate the flora. The serenaders sing the ecstasy of this serene moment in the night: Oh, white moon/ of glitter and enchantments/ if it is true/ that the love you give shelter to/ will take the tears from my eyes/ ah, come kill/ this passion that follows me.The moon appears and the flower of the mandacaru revives. The serenaders come and transform the magic into song - singing and singing, the moon fills their mouths, makes the whites of their teeth shine, bewitched mouths kiss in the all embracing moonlight shining love rays all around. The moonshine in the hinerlands is of incredible beauty, just as nature all around: There isnt/ oh people/ oh, no/ moonshine like this/ in the hinterlands...( In the northeastern hinterlands there is an infinity of rare species of wild plants mallow rose, bromeliae, orchids, gorgeous flowers of different kinds of cacti mandacaru, crotons, monks heads. This is a pretty world full of flowers and life, green vegetation and positive vibrations. The plants of the forests fill the life of the simple man of that barren soil; he finds hope in the contemplation of the beauty around him. He tends to the flowers and harvests them as the Japanese do with their ikebana; so nature and he work together. But for the cacti flowers, which grow out of rocks, he harbours almost the same religious feelings as the Orientals do.
