Looking @the skyline of a city that never sleeps
Our youngest daughter
used to live in Brooklyn NY, so I
painted this one for her.
Now she lives
in Hell's Kitchen, which sounds worse
than it is, because this area of
Manhattan is fast becoming a
desirable location on the west side of
New York.
--ABOUT THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE--
It is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the
United States, stretches 5,989 feet
(1825 m) over the East River,
connecting the New York City
boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Construction began in January 3,
1870.
The Brooklyn Bridge was
completed thirteen years later.
Contemporaries marveled at what
technology was capable of and the
bridge became a symbol of the
optimism of the time
The bridge is
used for many television series and
film as well.
This mahogany FRAME with metal
corners suits this painting, since the
corners reminded me of the bridge!

Olga, your paintings are beyond words. Several times I've started to write complements and just sat still in front of the computer staring. Your portraits awe me perhaps the most. All the paintings are beautiful as well as being so skillfully executed. I chose to write under this one because, as lots of folks mention here, you have captured in this one and all the others, too, a mysterious and unique mesmerizing spirit that fills and emmenates from the city. Artists in every genre, music, dance, visual art, writers of poetry and prose, living action things. You have to just be there and experience it! Why am I telling you this? How neat to put the night and day one side by side! Thank you again, Olga, and for the many generous words you have left for me so often. Peace, etc., BruceMarika Antal 17 Jun 2008
