Gems kalidiscope design 2

Here is another in my series of patterns and kalidiscopes using natural gems and minerals from some of my rock collectios. I am manipulating photos/paintings of them, using embellishments such as paint tubes/cut outs/stamps, and other techniques to create these fantasy designs. I Will make more in the series to use to make a panel quilt creation, and perhaps latter use the patterns as some fashion cloth for fantasy paintings, such as for fairies to wear. I used Painter IX.5,Corel Paint Shop Pro X, and Jasc Paint Shop Pro Studio software as well as my Wacom tablet & stylus.

Hey Terry, I am absolutely amazed by your ability to produce superb computer art works like this beauty. You seem to be genius or child prodigy particularly if that photograph of you is a current one Terry! If you are doing thinks like this at your age, imagining what you will do in the next fifty years is totally mine bogging! I am certainly not up on computer art, yet I know what a great picture looks like and yours is just that young lady. Why you are not receiving more awards or getting many more replies certainly puzzles me as well sister! Thanks for your great comment on my Albert Durrer red study. I will look into stamp art my friend. Jerry Stith the most published Ball Point Pen Art artist here on the Web. Jesus Christ loves you Terry!

Artist Reply: Well, I'm 46, so not so young. Just look young, and nots so thin any more. WOrking on that part, am restriced with exersie, but do as much as I can stand. Got really bored during a long recovery time on my duff after an accident. I started to find what could I do, with a a Wacom Tablet and computer art, and have had a blast now for about 4 years. I used just Painter Classic for the first 3 years and upgraded to Painter IX for Christmas. In spring I got the software to do these designs, but didn't know that there was this on the programs I got until I started trying out what all the effects and gizmos they had. I like to combine multible prgrams to get the results I want. I might start with just a color or item I like the reflection off of, and go from there. I might draw, paint, scan, photo and then work with whatever my mind feels is right as I go. I ignored my art for years, too embarrassed to show it, too busy with kids, too should sped my money on more worthy causes. Took an accident to get me to try, bring it alive, and this is all a delightful trip for me. I have won a few contests that I've bothered to enter , but not too much into doing that. Haven't marketed my work really or put it out much, but will be doing more in the next year. I'm getting enough notice to please me.My head will swell. Still, I'm amature enough to be just a newbie at this and will keep on "playing". Maybe a bit lazy, as I'm a late starter. Have time to do it now, and am able to work again, so do to socialize. I love working with children, and they ask me why if I'm an artist? Well, paiintings speack to my creative soul but are so fun to be with all day. I enjoy being where kids are laughing, learning, and building self-esteem. If I had had more growing up, I'd not waited so long. Bless you as well!
