Gem pattern design5

This is the second pattern of a series using gems, rocks, and minerals as the beginning point of the works. Each creation will begin from a photo or original drawing and will develop as I manipulate, add in design elements, and effects. I began with some agates with this one and went on from there. I hope you like these designs, and will create more after the firsts if they are appealing. I will compile some into a quilt like design after I have made enough that work well together. This means I may have some with the same colors or elements, but different designs. I will need them to work together in the quilt design. I hope you like these. This one complements the kalidiscope design I posted up, Gem kalidiscope 4. In this case, I manipulated the design into a pattern insead of a kalidiscope. They same base design was used to create both works. This was created using Painter IX.5, Corel Paint Shop Pro X, and Jasc Paint Shop Pro Studio software. I used my Wacom tablet & stylus to place elements (such as paint tubes (like glass marbles) in areas I wanted them to appear. Not to mention, some of my agate slabs.

This really is amazing design work Terry! So creative, your extremely talented, I really enjoy these very much, your choice of color and composition are striking! :)

Artist Reply: Thanks Laurie! I love doing these designs, like playing with kalidiscopes and a treasure box of gems. I pick colors that work well together and then play around and fiddle with settings, add embellishments, redo until I get something I like the results to.

Brilliant colors, details and style. Lovely picture.

Artist Reply: Thanks Jerry! You can do much with just a few elements and rearranging it.

terry fabulous...wow..

Artist Reply: Thanks Bianca! Sometimes I get these ideas to try and I love them, but hesitate to post them up. Have learned to trust my instincts and just do it. These designs are ones I had second thoughts about posting up.
