Calfs island

the small island with it ancient castle ruins, is placed in the most wonderful place, the castle which was a fort also was build by King Erik Menved in year 1313, since then many farmhouses has stones and bricks from there, and to day there are still some left, the area is special because of the last iceage have pulled soil and rocks from all scandinavia and left it there. On the beach you can find pieces of rock from Suomi, Sweden, Norway, Balticum and Poland. It is all gathered there and there is several dead ice holes. It is a very poetic landscape :)

The sketch/linework is wonderful, and the accompanying text is so very interesting. It takes us there to this wonderful spot in spirit!

I love the story of ice and rocks being dragged down from the north - a little pile of international/scandinavian earth in a pile - a castle built from the rocks, then being split up into houses - incredible image of time and change. Thanks, Pakki
