Indian Creek Resevoir (plein air) 2006

This plein air study of Indian Creek Resevoir was done in a couple of hours while my wife sunbathed and our son swam. It lacks the precision of a studio landscape, but retains some of the spontaneity of a sunny afternoon.

Hello David! How are you? Sounds like you had a nice mini holiday. I like this picture a lot. The colours sing and the blues convey a sense of calm and tranquility. Love the dappled, sunlit tree trunks and the melange of brightly coloured flowers in the foreground. I can almost hear the bullfrogs croaking and feel the hot sun on my face. I looked at this picture for a long time. Pass me a Mint Julep Renaud, heavy on the ice!!! Love it!
