There is a moment in time where against your will things run backwards. Love becomes hate, life becomes death, and fragility becomes strength. But before that moment of realization where the world begins to make sense, there is only grief.
Drawn for Judith Mayr's Vampire Contest. I chose Eve, her vampire character in a moment most who know her vampiric self would probably not recognize her in. On the day of her wedding, long before she ever became a vampire, her entire family including her fiance was slaughtered in front of her eyes. On that day, she died to her life of innocence as her clan's beloved daughter. She was given one year of mourning. She used it to become a warrior to hunt down the one who did this to her, her own brother Alexander.
I would never consider this character weak or yielding, but I find it fascinating to think that even the strong have had their moments of absolute desolation. Go check out Jude's gallery for more of this lovely character.
