Golden marigolds

These are some bright golden marigolds that I painted one day. Often these simple flowers are overlooked and passed by for more beautiful and scented flowers. Still, I love them, and their hardiness. They grow well, and leave so many seeds that that you couls soon plant a whole field of them. I love that they are not loved by the jackrabbits due to their leafy order, or by the bugs. They are good to plant around your vetetable plants as a buffer from insects that are pest. The blooms are edible, they are used also for shampoos and other natural products. Such bright little flowers bring back memories of my late father and I planting a garden, and of my late mother-in-law who sent me a package one year of thousands of seeds after I mentioned my father had loved them. Such a small sweet kindness! I will always think of them both when I see them. Golden memories that I will not forget. I used a wacom tablet and pen with Painter IX software to create this look. I used mostly layers of airbrush, and pastels, and some varieties of blending tools to ge this look. I was thinking of them both today, so painted these.

A real beautiful piece.......looks like a real painting.

Artist Reply: Thank you Tazda! I guess it's because it's a painting, not a photo. My digital paintings print out as a photo and can be saved as a photo file, but still, start as a blank canvas/screeen that I have to make all the brush strokes, paint colors, etc. I just don't have to vlean up the mess after I'm done, and can make changes when I want, or undo mistakes. It helps them be more accurate.

You've brought them to life! I love marigolds too, and they are delicious in salads.

Artist Reply: Thank you Sara! I've eaten them as well and other edible flowers. They sure make a salad look nice!
