This is a painting that I did for my Mother's birthday about 6 years ago. The original illustration for the painting was based on a wooden carving of the Buddha's bust which she had bought while visiting Thailand and is a decoration in her home. The colours are very warm and vibrant and the technique I used was applying layers of thin acrylic wash to give the piece alot of depth and color. I really enjoyerd painting this painting and it led onto a lot of great things for me with my art.
