San Xavier Mission

This is a painting I did of the historical San Xavier Mission, near Tuscon, Arizona. It is a lovely old mission! I created from scratch this painting, stroke by stroke (it is not a manipulated photo(. Used my wacom tablet and stylus to paint it with Painter Classic software.

Absolutely beautifull Terry.Looked at some of your works but this one hit me.Is this the real Terry???Or do you like to much working with all these subjects you handle?Admire your ambition and I am looking forward to see some more in the future.

Artist Reply: LOL! Thanks Henk! I am so attention deficent that I dabble all over. I am working on some watercolors soon. I've had to go out and find some referrence photos to do more buildings. The real Terry is often facinated with something new, and likes to challenge myself. THis was one of those. I was browsing my photos one day, and thought, "Wonder if I could manage a building?" Then I picked this Mission, and surprized myslef when it was done. I go through periods of boredom and look for something not the same old style or subject.

I love it

Artist Reply: Thank you Kiddolucas Lee! I hope to go back to visit in a few months when it's cooler. It's a beautiful place. This one was fun to do, but tricky to leave enough detail, but keep the watercolor brush strokes I chose to paoint it in. I've a better program that handles small details now, but like this as it is.

Terry, I love the softness you have achieved of a beautiful subject in such a harsh environment as the Sonoran Desert area.

Artist Reply: Thank you Sam! I enjoy the beauty of the desert and see it's charm. It's hot, but beauty is there.
