Girl in Yellow Dress

Inspired by a photograph by Erwin Olaf, I loved the colors, tones and mood of this photo. It felt very beautiful, but very still, alone and a bit eerie. I have changed the girl's face to match the mood I wanted. She represents how I feel at times when I realize all that I am responsible for but am nervous about my capabilities to provide. Particularly in relation to parenting or in times of financial stress. It looks like she has just left a room or a party where she has put on a happy show and only she knows how fearful and concerned she is.

Wow what a strong painting. I really love the brown back ground that pushes out the yellow dress to make the picture have movement.Keep it up and thanks for te comments.

This painting has a lot of raw emotion. The text only increases the intensity. We wonder about this woman and worry with her. Hands are always a challenge. I slave over them every time.
