Daffodil Parade

Every April the Island of Nantucket has its own holiday weekend. Daffodil weekend is a weekend that brings hondreds of people back to the 14 mile summer resort Island. There are contests, parades, and picnics. Any car can participate in the parade as long as it is 10 or 15 years old, and most are decorated in daffodils. The Islanders are split down the middle on their opinion of the island holiday. Some say it is for the rich tourists, and some enjoy it. Funny though, Daffodils are not Native to Nantucket, they were brought to the island because of their ability to survive in a highly windy area many many years back.
