Rainy day forest

Huascaran is the highest mountain in Peru, at 6,768 metres. Wow! That's higher than Denali Peak/ Mt. McKinley in Alaska. I really wanted to see this ice-clad behemoth but sadly, I scheduled my South American adventure during the rainy season in Peru. My visit to the beautiful Lagunas Llanganuco, below the cliffs of Huascaran, was in pouring rain with the clouds just above the lake level (3,900 metres). I had to enjoy my time by photographing the wet, wet forest. But you know what? I still came away with some pleasing photographs. Maybe I'll see the mountains another time. I only caught a glimpse of the mountain from Huaraz one morning when the clouds parted temporarily. See the detail image.

Your spiritual attachment with Earth surely DOES come out in your photography..."Rainy Day Forest" is sooo beautiful! I cannot say enough about your talent! Wet or not, it must have been amazing to visit Peru!
