When I was a kid, the only pets my mother would let me have were fish... and they had to be hardy, cold water fish. Which gave me the choice between goldfish and the Japanese fighting fish. Guess which one I chose? Of course, after I'd finished sketching him out and coloring him, it hit me. "Dammit... I should have drawn him attacking his own reflection!" Ah well... next time.

Wow, when I go to work tomarrow (a fish store), not sure I can look at those bettas the same way. lol. I think it is an interesting interpertation of a betta splendon, and rather good. :D I've been wanting to do a betta drawing forever and send it to a show...I have a sailor moon betta and a girl betta stashed somewhere, maybe I'll dig them out and finish them ;) I think you can enter this into a show with the IBC, just go to ibcbettas.org to register with the IBC.Analua 29 Nov 2005
