Interesting abstract, Josh. The only thing I would've done differently is increase the depth of field. On a macro, that's hard to do, but you might be able to get all the grain in the part closest to us sharp.

this is a good balance as contrast to some of your wider more informative shots, you need to decide why you are making it though, is it a an abstraction of the real or is it about the texture and qualities of the stone? the right hand corner of blue distracts me a bit from your purpose, an essay on any stone just exploring texture and depth of field might prove fruitful for you, perhaps bracket the shots too; maybe allow yourself ten frames to build up a really informed experience of your subject, its not about necessarily making a record of the stone but a search for a journey around the subject that helps you find what you want to say about it, hope this helps best wishes
