The Child

A picture of an Eskimo child cought my attention and I had to draw it. There was something about the way the child looked into the camera. The shadows played off the light and dark drama that existed, and the texture of the hard and soft objects created contrast.

Nicely done. Great dark to white. I am still working on the style. YOU GOT IT

Artist Reply: Thanks, it was dificult to get some of the blacks to look clean and the lights to be so bright.

Great work, I agree with the lighting - makes a great picture and his expression is intriquing. I am looking at his hands (fingers mostly) and am a little confused though. Overall very nice!

Artist Reply: Terry, Thanks for the comment...don't be confused by the fingers....When I first saw the pic I thought that it was a mistake, but the kid is spreading out his fingers around the pole in a verry peculuar way. His thumb on the front hand was not even visible in the picture. I assume it was behind the pole. The forefinger looks like a thumb only because of the way he had it pressed against the pole. Makes for interesting conversation. Have a great day!

excellent work! the textures are fantastic!

Artist Reply: Yup, Textures are fun...they take twice as long, but if done right they will make whatever the person draws that much better. thanks, and have a great day!
