Through Another's Eyes

Kinetic, welded, recycled steel weather vane, 96" by 56" by 36", copyright 2004 This is the first in a series of work inspired by the unfortunate political events in Iraq, Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, North Korea and all other parts of the world. The main message is that we're all part of the same human race, sharing the same planet earth, and we could probably avoid a lot of conflict and suffering if we would try to see things through our neighbors eyes, and not just our own. The central element symbolizes two faces on either side of the same issue with their own fixed perspective, unable to see the facts from the other's point of view. Both sides are subject to outside pressures and the political winds of the people they share our planet with As these winds blow, their vantage points shift.
