Seventy thousand years prior to the chronicles of Kathra and co, powerful and ancient forces began to shape the history of the galaxy. The tanu came from the outer void, swarming over the south-eastern stretches of the galaxy and letting nothing stand in their way. The first major resistance they encountered was the anaji. Naturally immune to the tanu virus, just as technologically advanced as the tanu were, and possessing the strength and courage needed to defy the massive invasion, the anaji spent decades defending their territory from the tanu. As the anaji were master cloners and the tanu had trillions of warriors just in the first assault wave, the battles stretched on and on, each tanu reinforced by two more and each fallen anaji resurrected in a fresh shell back on the homeworld of Ryi. However, the tanu were more clever than the anaji predicted, and launched a blitzkrieg on Ryi itself, intent on destroying the anaji's cloning facilities and putting an end to the war. Thus successful, the tanu overran Ryi, a few valiant defenders, including Arden and Tothias pictured here, defending their homeworld while their bretheren were evacuated. Even after the end of the Anaji-Tanu War and Azhin's victory over the da'si, Arden knew nothing of the escapees, her hopes for their survival slim indeed. It wasn't until after her death that the truth of their wherabouts was learned...
