Frida Kahlo is known for her beautiful colorful works of art. She had an accident at a young age, which left her partially disabled. The heart with the spears in my sculpture represents her vulnerability, pain and suffering that she has had to carry throughout her life. Despite all this, she was a very strong independent woman. The butterflies that emerge from her ribcage symbolize the free-spiritedness and unconditional love she had in her life. Diego was the love of her life and all the memories are stored in the bottles she holds. On the left and right we see empty bottles with a withered flower in them. This refers to Frida and her husband Diego. Their love is preserved but has blossomed.
