Tom Laughlin created the legendary hero Billy Jack who became known around the world. Not only did he write the movie, directed the movie and also stared in the movie. It was the first movie to bring to the screen Korean Hapkido kicking techniques. Fighting scenes in movies changed drastically after this film came out. The mosaic is inlaid with Devonian age marble and trimmed in Malachite gemstones.

Artist Reply: Thanks Joanie. Back in the days of the drive-in theater. I actually talked to Tom and Deloris after I had finished the mosaic and asked him for permission to name the piece Billy Jack. His reply was "Most definitely".
