The Ballad of Howling Hryvnia

It is my first political work I ever made and I did not want to only show the human suffering, but also the financial side of it. It affects clearly the whole world. That is why the title mentions 'Hryvnia', it is the Ukranian currency. The earth is dry..showing the poverty of her land. Her heart is exposed and is resting on the dry land..bleeding..she has nothing more to offer. She is under attack..hit by fire flares from the Russian government. She is crying and her puddle of tears are the only thing where she can find comfort..but it is just like a Fata Morgana. We think we know what we see, we think we understand...but it is just a mirage..what is real and what is not? The skin of the woman shows cracks like a broken porcelain vase and it grows out from the dry earth and they become almost one. The golden liquid healing the cracks stand for hope..after destruction comes creation.

How no one has commented on this piece is beyond my understanding. Of course, I 'missed' it when it was uploaded somehow---probably had my head in a sketchbook. Vanessa, this piece truly speaks to the inner anguish of human existence. If only the tears could put out those flames. I hope you are doing well in your part of the world. :)
