The Yin -Yang is the blance between Heaven and Earth, the Spirit and the physical, between the dark and the light. The Dragons represent the physical where as each of the four "winds represent the Spirit. The North and West "winds" surround the Yin - the dark half or the darker part of the Spirit. The East and South "winds" surround the Yang - the light half or the lighter half of the Spirit. You can not have one with out the other. There is a light and dark side to every living thing. We must reach a Balance between the two to fully enjoy life.
