After a night of taking pictures of the sky, I packed up and jumped in my car cold, wet, and ready to go home. Only to find my battery had died overnight. Stranded out in the field with nothing more to do but wait until it was bright enough to walk to the nearest house, I witnessed one of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen. This is a small sample of the glory of that morning sky. Quite the happy misfortune.
