Elder sister Kathra and younger brother Kiril. They've been through a lot together - growing up, their parents murdered by a careless bounty hunter, adopted by Nari Arian, Seneschal of the Dari resistance, they even live together in Syrani now, Kathra 23 and Kiril 17. All of Kiril's life they've been together, and near the beginning of the Saal'Ku/Dari Saga, they have to say goodbye for the first time for what may be an extended period while Kathra, onboard the Crimson Nova, helps track down their parents' killer, Saal'Ku. The farewell is the last they see of each other for quite a while - Kathra hunts across three worlds for Saal'Ku, getting shot at, beat up, and buried underneath a city. She finds friends, foes, and family, and even at her return to Khursinhi, she finds that the Dromi's Seekers have captured Kiril, holding him hostage so that the Dromi might avenge himself upon Kathra for her supposed fault in the death of his son. She goes to Xarsil, into the mouth of the beast, to face her death to save her little brother, the only family she has left. They are different sides of the same coin and can't, won't be without the other. Despite everything Kathra and Kiril both go through throughout the sagas, their first priorities, over anything and anyone else, is each other.
