Sadly, what appears to be a splendid display of heart-felt patriotism is in reality a shameful example of petty theft of the neighbor's flag. Just a wee soapbox moment but let me take this chance to say how much the flag still means to me--I realize in a nation of free speech, we should all be able to express our thoughts whatever they may be. Perhaps the flag has become symbolic of something else to others but not to me. My old heart still goes pitter- pat at the site of it flying fast and hard as some rodeo queen comes flying out of the gate with it waving high behind her.....seeing multiple ones fluttering over a field of graves (my father's included) still inspires me to take a moment to remember those who have fought to keep us free....I love this country and its flag so in the true liberty of free speech let me say long may she wave!!!
