Unseelie Court: Lust

The second of my "Seven Deadly Sins" collection of my "Unseelie Court" series - "Lust!" My Unseelie Court series focuses on the darker aspects of the faerie world, combined with historic and art- history references. The first collection in the series featured the Apocalypse themes (Famine, War, Pestilence, Death) and this new collection features each of the Seven Deadly Sins. "Lust" explores the sin of, well, lustfulness. All of my Unseelie Court pieces feature Art History themes, and this one does as well - a lot of imagery in this (historical allegorical references include Collier, Manet, Van Dyck, Fragonard, Girodet & more - have fun spotting them!). The diagram/symbol on her dress is that of Asmodel, spirit of Lust, the Asian kanji tattoo on her arm is again, that for lust. What looks like the mosaic/censored/pixellated part in the middle is NOT actually at all - it's handpainted tiny little squares I did myself to emulate the look of censorship - it is not edited, that's what my painting actually looks like (that was hard to do with acrylic paints, hehe!). Even though this is not the largest painting I've done, it's certainly the one I have spent the most hours painting on. PS - despite all the flesh shown in this painting, there is no actual "nudity" in the "naughty bits" sense of the word, so there is nothing in violation of any websites' or social media sites' guidelines. It's a PG rating at best. Be sure to check out the others in the Unseelie Court series and keep an eye out for more to come! My original acrylic painting.
