The artist in progress on a reproduction of the famous classic painting by the same name. This shot shows the work approximately half way through to completion. All finish work is completed in oils. (Preferably Windsor Newton, Artist's favorite). The canvas is stapled to the studio wall, sprayed with clear water which tightens to a drumlike resistance. Canvas is then base coated with a primer and artwork is transfered and filled in layer by layer until completion. Reference photos surround the artist as he renders each area of detail.
