Artist comment: "This pastel painting has all the elements that I love to paint: water, mist, the Astoria/Megler Bridge, and a fishing boat. I have been painting a series of views of 'the bridge' in pastel. Each scene has different boats and moods. I also enjoy seeing the tugboats, Coast Guard vessels, and other working boats and including them in my series as well. This fishing vessel, the 'Kay Ann', is a handsome boat and I painted her in 'action'. I made the background misty and the river flowing roughly. I had a great time making the ripples!”
