"This 'Sky Zoo' includes a friendship flag, traditional Japanese carps, an 18' giraffe, and a lifesize zebra. the giraffe and zebra are the creations of Christopher Silvia of Rhode Island. The zoo was arranged and is being flown by Tom Casselman, also of Rhode Island."

Artist comment: "When I saw this wonderful display at the international kite festival, I knew I wanted to paint it. A zoo in the sky! Imagine that! This kite maker has quite the creativity! I chose oil on canvas to depict this scene for its brilliance and my ability to get fine detail. After sketching the diagonal composition, I painted the early morning sky with tones of pink and blue. Then I did the ocean and sand, saving the kites and figure for last. The name 'sky zoo' sort of suggested itself as I went along."
