Artist comment: "I am a 'cat' person. So when I saw this wonderful feline 'wind sculpture' at a kite festival, I knew I would paint it. After sketching the composition on Canson Mi-Teintes textured paper, I used soft pastel sticks to paint. Starting with the background, I worked from top to bottom. Then I did the figure from lights to darks. Carefully drawing the lines and placing the shadow on the sand, I completed this black cat against the sky."
