Artist comment: "This pastel on Canson Mi-teintes textured paper depicts a common scenario that I have observed as I pursue the series of paintings of people digging clams. The people have ‘parked’ their clam ‘guns’ to get a quick lesson from an obvious pro. The weather is typically grey and about to rain. The colorful clothing of this group stands out against the background. As I completed the figures, I noted the reflections on the wet beach. Have they had success? Are they here to just watch? ‘Stay tuned’ as they say!"
