Long ago, I painted a small oil on canvas depicting a field of brilliant red poppies. It has always been a favorite of mine, and I longed to recreate this work in a stylized, dramatic way. This version places the giant blossoms against a starry night sky, to add to the visual impact. “Midnight Poppies” would be a spectacular addition in a contemporary or modern setting, particularly one with a bold color scheme.
