Here's My Latest Painting. It's a 1951 Hudson Hornet parked in front of Eamon's Bungalow Camp In Calgary, Alberta circa 1951. Here's a brief history about this location. Eamon's Camp was an iconic service station that was at one point in time in the middle of nowhere with lights that could be seen from over 15 miles away at night! It was a place where Tourists heading to the Rockies could get a car wash, a meal, gas, repair, and lodging all at one location. Today the building still stands , and has been completely swallowed by the sprawling city of calgary. North of the station is a condo complex, west of it is a mega church, south of it is Crowchild Trail, and east of it Is a major highway interchange. It is registered as a historic landmark, and is protected because of that, however its future may be uncertain, because of it's sitting right where the city want's to develop a Transit Station for the new suburban neighborhood of Royal Oak Just north of Eamon's. The station is currently unowned, and is today used as an overflow inventory lot for a car dealership further up Crowchild Trail (Here's a picture of it as it appears today [link]).
