Absinthe Afternoon

14"x18" acrylic painting on canvas. Degas, Van Gogh, Hemingway, many creative individuals in the past have been heavily influenced by the toxic and mysterious Absinthe. Having hallucinogenic properties, it has been synonymous with creativity and brutal artistic inspiration throughout the centuries. A fan of Absinthe and the history behind it (particularly in art) I thought I would create my own homage to "la Fee Verte". This image copyrighted © 2004 by Jasmine Becket-Griffith.
