What an immense number of insightful and wise quotations reside in the written and spoken words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr! I chose those particular ones above for their special relevance, universal in time and place. I feel the vital wisdom in them more and more as time goes by. I feel almost a solace during the frequent times when despair seems overwhelming: so many places in the world are fraught with violence and/or poverty and/or natural disasters. We hear only the very worst of people’s suffering. I am most aware of it in my native country, of course, but I am aware that no doubt I know only the smallest percentage of it here. And so I wanted to put this page together – maybe as an expression of humble gratitude: a parent, a brother, a teacher, a FRIEND. Whom everyone may and can, share. I guess that’s what martyrs do!
