"Terrace Mountain Fire" is a sumi-e (Japanese Brush Painting) by professional artist Brazen Edwards-Hager. Imagine moving to the Okanagan and not even fully unpacking yet, only to find out a wildfire is spreading quickly and you need to be evacuated! That was my summer of 2009 and although I had wanted to see more of the Okanagan, bouncing from hotel to hotel for 3 weeks wasn't exactly what I had in mind. All in all though it was an eye opening experience, not only because of how well the community pulled together but I realized what was truly important to me.
