I have had great fun creating this work...I have used real sand and gravel to create the beach on both 12in x 24in deep edge box canvas. I wanted to represent a typical english seaside...I have used oil paint for the sky and sea--the colours are not showing up true in the photos--I have managed to capture the green/grey /blue of the sea with the oils but its not showing up in the photo and is looking the same blue as the sky! Ive got a lot of texture in the sea as well-using thick oil paint to do the waves which adds a lot of interest to the painting. Im currently working on another one at the moment-watch this space....
