We see a group of people (men, women and children) standing around a cook stove with a solitary pan on it. The man doing the cooking is talking to a woman and her son and daughter, who have just approached the stove. In the near back ground we see a weathered wooden shack. In the doorway we see a woman and a very young girl. An older girl is leaning looking out of the lone window. Her sister is sitting on the front porch looking depressed. Towering over the shack are two large trees behind which grow smaller trees and other vegetation. These trees stand next to water that we can not see from our perspective but a stream of water from a pipe pours over the edge of a cliff on the top of which sit two Victorian mansions. Behind these edifices we the stacks and towers of a refinery rising. Over all hangs an unhealthy pall of vapor and mist.
