I work in pastels all the time but have never been happy with the "sky" in my work, on looking through for inspiration i found your work, truly inspirational.

Artist Reply: Thank you, Phil! I generally work from photos (clouds just won't stand still) - I zoom in on my monitor to each area, add in colors in the same value, and try to complete the sky in sections this way. Then I put away the source photo and just continue to work and (hopefully) make the painting more unified. Clouds are so enjoyable to paint!
